Welcome at A Beautiful Mess Arnhem. In March 2023, we opened a Community Cafe in the middle of Arnhem. A meeting place for residents of the emergency reception (Nieuwe Kade) and neighbourhood residents. It is a nice and safe place, where we work together with various organisations to make it a lively place. At this moment, we do not have the facilities to provide you with our delicious food, but you are more than welcome to visit us for a drink.

Joint Activities

Residents from the neighborhood and those in emergency shelters are welcome to join us for a cup of coffee on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the community café, from 1 PM to 5 PM. In addition, they can participate in the following workshops for free:
Residents of Arnhem are welcome for a coffee or tea on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our Connection Cafés.

*Dutch lessons using the ‘Alternative Ways to Learn a Language’ method

*Dutch conversation classes

*English conversation classes

*Life and Work in the Netherlands (offered in Dutch, English, Arabic, or Tigrinya)

*Barista workshop

*Digital skills for women

Please make sure to register for the workshops. You can do this with Saba on Tuesday or Thursday between 1 PM and 2 PM at the café of A Beautiful Mess.

Connection Café

We also organize our monthly Connection Cafés, a musical and culinary social gathering. These events are usually held at a local community center. To register, please contact Niloofar at niloofar@abeautifulmess.nl.

Additionally, the staff of A Beautiful Mess and residents collaborate each month to prepare a “Community Meal” for all residents of two shelter ships.
