Welcome to A Beautiful Mess Arnhem. In March 2023 we opened a Community Café in Arnhem on the Nieuwe Kade near the asylum seekers center on the boats. A meeting place for emergency shelter residents and local residents. You are welcome for a good cup of coffee, a pleasant chat, or to participate in one of our activities. Everyone is welcome! It is a nice and safe place where we work together with many different organizations to build a community where everyone can be a part of. A place where people with a refugee background can make new friends and step by step get their lives in the Netherlands on track.

Neighborhood residents and residents of the asylum center are welcome on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. Our offerings include:

An inviting place with free delicious barista coffee and tea.

A welcoming space with complimentary delicious barista coffee & tea
Language courses: Dutch and English conversation
Workshops on living and working in the Netherlands (in Dutch, English, Arabic or Tigrinya)
Barista training
Dutch and English conversation classes
Digital skills workshop
Art workshops
Round table discussion on Dutch customs and culture

Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to support so we can host more workshops for residents. Think digital skills, making beautiful cappuccinos or creative workshops. And residents would like to improve their Dutch or English and converse with a volunteer.
