Welcome to A Beautiful Mess Utrecht. We are located in a surprising place, namely the asylum center in Utrecht-West, Oog in Al. Here, residents of the asylum seekers center work in the kitchen or on the floor, together with people who already have experience in the Dutch hospitality industry. Together they create a place where local residents and residents of the asylum seekers’ center come to eat, meet and visit events.
Our Staff
With love and skill, our chefs create blissful dishes from the Middle East and Africa. In fact, our menu is inspired by dishes from our employees’ home countries. The scents of our food from Libya, Syria and Eritrea meet you as soon as you step into our restaurant. Our chefs will be happy to tell you more about it.

Community dinner on Fridays from 17:00 to 21:30
Join us for €28.00 euro pp, kids for €6.50, and use this to donate a dinner to a resident of the asylum center.
We serve a three-course surprise dinner these evenings. This is always vegetarian food with African or Middle Eastern flavors.
