Welcome to the A Beautiful Mess bar and restaurant in the city of Utrecht.
Come and enjoy the atmosphere and taste our meals from around the world in our restaurant located on a spot that may surprise you: the asylum seekers centre in the Oog in Al district, which is in the western part of Utrecht. Bring your laptop and enjoy flawless wifi or forget about work and get some peace and quiet, combined with great coffee or tea.
Meetings, workshops, training sessions, events, dinner parties on a beautiful location.
At our restaurant, residents of the asylum seekers centre work in the kitchen or wait tables. Among their co-workers are also more experienced professionals who know their way around. Together they create a space where locals living nearby and residents of the centre eat together, have meetings, and attend special events.
Order our lunch menu called: ‘Share A Beautiful Mess’. This means tables beautifully set with colorful details and meals from around the world. Almost a shame to eat it, but do it anyway and enjoy the taste together.
Our chefs cook from the heart and have all the skills needed to prepare the most delicious meals from the Middle-East and Africa. Right when you enter our restaurant, you will enjoy the sweet smell of our meals from Lybia, Syria and Eritrea. Our chefs will tell you all about it.
A lot of daylight comes in thanks to our big windows and the open space. Combined with a whole lot of plants, the Middle-Eatern prints on the wall and the colorful interior, we offer a nice vibe to our guests and also to our staff.
Our location is a beautiful spot to have meetings and organize training sessions or workshops. Maximum occupancy equals 80 people. We have a sliding wall, so we’re also able to make the space a bit smaller when fewer people attend. Find all info by clicking the ‘Rental’ button.
