Welcome to A Beautiful Mess Galaxy. In 2026, we have opened a Community Café in the new shelter for asylum seekers at Galaxy in Amsterdam. It is a nice and safe place where we work together with many different organizations to build a community where everyone can be a part of. A place where people with a refugee background can make new friends and step by step get their lives in the Netherlands on track.

Our Community Café is a safe and inclusive place, where different people and organizations work together to build a community that everyone can be a part of.

We offer, among other things:

A welcoming space with complimentary delicious barista coffee & tea
Language courses: Dutch and English conversation
Workshops on living and working in the Netherlands (in Dutch, English, Arabic or Tigrinya)
Barista training
Dance Workshops

Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to support so we can host more workshops for residents. Think digital skills, making beautiful cappuccinos or creative workshops. And residents would like to improve their Dutch or English and converse with a volunteer.
