Freelance chefs sought for cooking workshops

At A Beautiful Mess, we believe in the power of food to connect people. In our cooking studio, we bring flavors, stories and craftsmanship together. And we love doing that together with you.

Together with Merijn Tol – cookbook author and chef, involved as menu developer and culinary consultant at A Beautiful Mess since 2018 – we will soon launch a series of new cooking workshops.

The workshops are inspired by cuisines that match the backgrounds of our trainees: from Syria to Afghanistan, from Iran to Ethiopia to Sudan and beyond. To this end, we are building a pool of freelance chefs who enjoy sharing their knowledge, experience and love of these diverse cuisines with a wide audience.

What will you do?

• You will conduct cooking workshops in our professional and inspiring cooking studio

• You will work with workshops developed with Merijn

• Before you start, you will be prepared in a joint training session (content, format, didactics and atmosphere)

• After that, you will be on call, based on your availability

Who are we looking for?

• You are a chef or experienced cooking professional

• You have an affinity for the cuisines of the Middle East, Central Asia and East Africa, or the culinary traditions that match the backgrounds of our trainees

• You enjoy being in front of groups and imparting knowledge

• You feel at home in a place where food, inclusivity and social impact come together

• You work as a freelancer (or want to become one)
